How involved does our team need to be?

Your team’s involvement is important, but the goal is to keep disruption to a minimum while gathering the information needed to understand how the workflow truly operates.

During the diagnostic we typically work with the people who are directly involved in the process. This may include short interviews with team members, walkthroughs of the systems used to perform the work, and discussions with managers responsible for the workflow.

We also review any existing documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), process diagrams, reports, or dashboards that help explain how the process is intended to function.

In some cases we may follow a workflow step-by-step to understand how work moves through the organization in practice. This helps identify where delays, manual steps, handoffs, or workarounds occur that may not be visible from documentation alone.

The purpose of this investigation is to build an accurate picture of the process early in the engagement. By understanding the workflow in detail during the diagnostic phase, any improvements or implementation work that follows can be executed more efficiently, with fewer surprises and less disruption to the team.

Our goal is to gather the insight needed to improve the workflow while allowing your team to continue focusing on their day-to-day responsibilities.
